Heat Pump Quote Tool settings

Reach these settings from Settings → Web Apps → Heat Pump Quote Tool. Every tab sits under the heading Heat Pump Quote Tool configuration. On the Overview tab, Hosted URL shows the tool's web address with a button to open it, so you can check a change immediately.

You need setup permissions to see these screens.

The tabs, in the order they appear:

The twelve Heat Pump Quote Tool configuration tabs: Overview, Content, Custom blocks, Explainers, Acceptance, Hardware Packages, Defaults, Extras, Savings, Pricing Presentation, Finance Options, and Integration

Overview

Addresses, lead capture, and how packages are presented.

Hosted URL — Your tool's web address, with a button to open it and a link through to custom domain setup. Read-only here.

Your website URL — Where your logo links to inside the tool. Set this so customers can get back to your site.

Protect prices and gentle nudge — Controls whether prices are gated behind contact capture. You choose which fields to ask for, whether to protect prices at all, and whether to show the gentler save prompt instead. There is also an option to allow a URL parameter to override price protection.

Contact form fields — Whether phone number is optional.

Packages presentation — A compact view option for the package comparison.

Packages sorting — The default sort order your customers see.

Coverage areas — Postcode areas where the tool accepts quotes. Addresses outside those areas are declined on the start page.

Legal policy links — Informational. These are managed centrally under your business details rather than per tool.

Opt-in checkbox — Whether to include a marketing opt-in, its wording, and whether it is checked by default.

Content

Customer-facing copy and imagery for the journey screens that are still driven from this tab rather than from custom blocks.

  • Quote tool noun — Whether the tool talks about a "quote", an "estimate", or something else. This word appears throughout, so it is worth setting first.
  • Banner text and contact header visibility
  • Get started title
  • Address lookup title, text, and an additional image
  • Splash image, with positive and negative logo options
  • Centre pin title and text — shown while the customer positions their pin
  • Unlock prices title and text — the price protection screen
  • Nudge save title and text — the gentler save prompt
  • Help card image — shown at the package selection step
  • Capture estimate subtext
  • EPC screen (no EPC found) — copy shown when the customer proceeds without a certificate
  • What's included and What's not included — repeatable lists of title and description. These render on the summary section and are not moved to custom blocks.
  • Why choose us — still editable here for legacy configs, but new content belongs on the Custom blocks tab (see below)

Custom blocks

Add reusable content blocks to the start page and to individual steps of the quote tool.

The first four sub-tabs cover the whole page:

  • Start page — content at the top of the landing step, before the customer confirms their address
  • Page top — above every unlocked section
  • Page bottom — below every unlocked section
  • Footer — at the foot of the page

The remaining sub-tabs match the journey steps — EPC, Property, Grant, BUS grant (or HES grant for Scottish accounts), Hardware packages, Savings, Add-ons, and Summary — so you can place a block next to the section it relates to.

Block types include Markdown, HTML, Video, and Why choose us. The Why choose us block carries a title and a repeatable list of cards, each with an optional image, title, and description — the heat pump equivalent of the solar tool's Why choose us content field, but as a block you can place on the start page or any step.

If you previously used per-tool layout zones to inject header, footer, or sidebar content, that content now lives here. The separate Layout tab has been removed.

Explainers

A step explainer is a modal your customer can open from Learn more on that step. You can also open it automatically the first time they reach the step.

Explainers belong on journey steps only. They are not available on the start page, or on the content that wraps the whole quote. Location (address and pin) is not configurable because that step finishes before the rest of the quote tool.

For each step you can set:

  • Title — the heading on the modal
  • Markdown above the video
  • Optional video — an upload or a URL
  • Markdown below the video
  • Button text — the dismiss button. Leave it blank to use Got it
  • Automatically open for customers when they reach this step
  • Close when the customer clicks outside the modal

Use Preview to see the modal as your customer will.

Once they have seen it, it will not open automatically again on that quote in the same browser. They can still open it from Learn more.

Acceptance

Headed Edit acceptance settings. This configures the main call to action at the end of the journey.

You edit it as a live preview, clicking through to change each part. It uses the same acceptance system as proposals. You can require contact details, agreement to policies, a digital signature, an appointment booking, and a card deposit — in any combination.

You can offer more than one way to accept — for example a site survey and a purchase — each with its own steps. Use Add another option. Your customer sees one card per path and can complete only one. A single path looks and works the same as it does today.

Defaults

Sizing and grant behaviour defaults.

Cylinder sizing litres per occupant — How the hot water cylinder is sized from the number of bedrooms.

Hide Oil/LPG BUS uplift in instant quote — When on, oil and LPG properties receive the base Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant only, not the additional uplift.

Other grant and sizing defaults may be configured centrally on your account; check this tab for what applies to new quotes on this tool.

Hardware Packages

An assignment tab. Pick which packages from your library this tool offers, and drag them into order — the order here is the "Recommended" order your customer sees. Manage in library takes you to the packages themselves.

See Hardware packages.

Extras

An assignment tab for optional upsells. Pick Extras adds them. Order matters here too, and Manage in library takes you to the extras themselves.

If you have no extras assigned, your customers skip the Add-ons step entirely.

Savings

The assumptions behind the indicative running-cost comparison on the Savings step.

Defaults for gas, oil, LPG, and electric heating — unit prices, standing charges, tank hire, appliance efficiencies, and typical annual usage by bedroom count. There is also a fallback seasonal coefficient of performance used when the chosen heat pump has no efficiency figure of its own.

Electricity tariffs — Optional tariffs your customer can pick for the comparison. Each carries a name, unit rate, and standing charge.

caution

The savings figures are shown to customers as projections. Set assumptions to values you are comfortable defending.

Pricing Presentation

How the price is displayed, without changing how it is calculated.

Round pricing — Round displayed prices.

Pricing prefix and suffix — Text either side of the number, such as "from".

No VAT label — What to show when VAT does not apply.

Range pricing — Show a range rather than a single figure, with lower and upper percentages.

Finance button image and pop-up override — The finance call to action and its explanatory content.

Finance only — Show only monthly finance figures rather than a total price.

Discount code — Whether customers can enter a discount code, and whether one is pre-applied and shown on packages.

Finance Options

An assignment tab. Pick and order the finance options this tool offers. Manage in library takes you to the options themselves.

Integration

Analytics, tracking, and custom scripts.

Custom head and body HTML snippets — For anything you need to inject.

Simplified cookie consent — Use the built-in consent banner.

Google Tag setup — Enter a Measurement ID rather than hand-writing the tag, then choose whether to track page views.

Conversion events — Which actions are reported as conversions: help requested, callback requested, survey requested, and saved.

Additional non-conversion events — Optional tracking for reaching each screen.

Meta Pixel — Equivalent setup, with page view tracking and the same four conversion events.

A tab you will not find

The Heat Pump Quote Tool no longer has a Layout tab. Header, footer, and sidebar-style content zones from the old layout editor are now Custom blocks on the tabs above. What's included, What's not included, and the EPC-without-certificate message stay on the Content tab because they render from there on the summary and EPC steps.
