January 2026

January is about not starting a proposal from a blank page. Save a proposal, or a single block of one, as a template and reuse it, or let a wizard build the proposal for you from OpenSolar projects or from the PDFs a supplier already sent you. The pricing table underneath all of it became a proper editor, with adjustments you can set per group or hand over to one of your Pricing Models.

note

Compiled retrospectively from the changes released this month. It covers the most significant changes rather than everything.

Proposals

  • Templates, for a whole proposal or a single block. Save what you have built as a template and make it Shared with everyone in your business or Private to you, then start your next proposal from it, or add a saved block from the Template blocks tab in the block chooser. Templates, under Core Setup, lists everything you have saved.
  • Build a proposal from invoice or quote PDFs. Choose Proposal Wizard, then Invoice / Quote PDF Wizard, and upload up to five pro-forma, invoice or quotation PDFs. Each one is read for its line items and becomes its own pricing table in the proposal.
  • A rebuilt pricing table. The block now opens on three tabs — Line items (BOM), Pricing configuration and Customer preview — so what is in the job, how it is priced, and what your customer sees are kept apart. Pricing adjustments can be set per line item, per category, per group, across all items, or taken from one of your Pricing Models.
  • Two new blocks. Bento image grid lays photographs out in a grid that opens into a carousel, and 3D model viewer (GLB file) puts an interactive model, such as a drone scan, into the proposal.

Pricing and catalogue

  • Fill a pricing table from your Hardware Catalogue. Import line items offers From hardware catalogue as well as Copy and paste from text, so products you have already set up arrive with their details rather than being retyped.
  • Sync your hardware prices from Midsummer Wholesale. Enable the Midsummer Wholesale connector under Connectors with your trade account details, then turn on Enable Midsummer price automatic synchronization on your Hardware Catalogue to keep catalogue prices in step with what you pay.

Integrations

  • Build a proposal from OpenSolar projects. With OpenSolar enabled under Connectors, choose Proposal Wizard, then Open Solar Proposal Wizard, to pull one or more projects into a single proposal, with the panel layout, technical details, energy usage, product highlights and pricing already filled in. Import several projects, or a design holding several systems, and they become options your customer picks between, with the rest of the proposal following their choice.

Day to day

  • Searching Instant Quotes works again. Search and filters on the Instant Quotes listing had stopped narrowing the results, and now do. An enquiry about a hardware package also names that package, both on the enquiry and in the notification email you receive.
