Undo, redo, and a roof editor that starts on your roofs

Designing a roof layout in the Solar Quote Tool and Commercial Solar Quote Tool takes fewer clicks and is easier to correct. The editor now opens zoomed to the roofs you have drawn, the draw tools stay on screen while something is selected, and you can undo a mistake instead of redrawing.

New

  • Undo and Redo, under the satellite toggle, or with Cmd/Ctrl+Z. Undo steps back through committed edits such as drawing a roof. Changing the satellite image is not an undo step. Undo history lasts for the session; saving the design is unaffected.
  • Arrow keys nudge a selection 100 mm north, south, east, or west. This works on roofs, obstructions, and multi-selections, and a roof moves together with its panels and obstructions. Arrow keys do nothing while you are mid-draw. With a single panel selected, arrow keys still add a neighbouring panel as before.
  • A prompt to fill a roof you have just drawn. Finish drawing and you are asked whether to auto-fill it with panels. Answer no and the empty roof stays selected.

Improved

  • The view starts on your roofs. Opening the editor, and Reset View, zooms to your drawn roofs first, then to pitch hints, then to the property boundary. A single commercial bay now fills the canvas instead of sitting small in a wide map.
  • The draw tools stay visible. Selecting a roof, panel, or obstruction adds its actions to the menu rather than replacing it, so Draw Roof, Draw Obstruction, and auto-fill remain one tap away. There is no longer a Go Back step.
  • Panel actions are grouped. Add, clear, and auto-fill sit together under Panel Actions. In Standard mode with a single roof, they are available without selecting the roof first.
