October 2025
October was mostly about quoting for your customer rather than waiting for them to do it themselves. You can build a quote in the Installer Portal while they are on the phone, change what they see, and send them a link with a message from the person they spoke to. Alongside that, the Solar Quote Tool started reading better roof data from the map, and Pricing Calcs arrived for the times you only need a price.
note
Compiled retrospectively from the changes released this month. It covers the most significant changes rather than everything.
Quote Tools
- Better roof data, and roofs drawn for your customer. Turn on Roof intelligence under Defaults on your Solar Quote Tool and the tool uses sharper satellite imagery and more accurate roof data. Add Auto roof creation and it lays the roofs out for your customer instead of asking them to draw each one. Roofs are only created automatically when the data behind them is good enough; where it is not, your customer draws them as before.
- A roof editor that copes with harder roofs. Flat roofs are treated as flat, with rows spaced out rather than panels laid edge to edge. You can override the number of panels on a roof instead of taking the count that fits, and turn high-definition imagery off when the aerial photography for an address is out of date. The editor also remembers whether you were last working in panels or counts, and which image you were looking at.
- Offer a callback instead of a deposit. The last step of a quote can invite your customer to ask for a call rather than pay there and then — "Not ready to make payment yet?" and "Click here for us to call you back" by default, with wording you can change. This works on the Solar, Battery, Heat Pump and Air Con Quote Tools.
Day to day
- Build a quote yourself. Each list under Instant Quotes gained a create button, so you can start a quote and work through it as your customer would. While you are in it you can hide packages you do not want to offer, change the products, quantities and price of a package for that one quote, and put any hidden packages back. See quoting on a customer's behalf for how the whole flow now works.
- Send it with something personal attached. Share gives you the quote's web address, and you can pick a step so the link opens your customer where you want them. Add a welcome message and a team member's profile, then write and send the email from the same panel rather than copying the link into your own inbox.
- See which quotes your team started. Quotes built in the Installer Portal are tagged Created by Admin in the lists, and the Dashboard reports them separately from quotes your customers started on your website. The Dashboard also stopped charting site visits, and counts quotes that reached an address instead.
Pricing and catalogue
- Pricing Calcs. A new screen under Sales Pipeline that runs a job through one of your pricing models without building a quote. Pick the model, describe the job with products, roofs and the other inputs the model uses, and read the total back block by block so you can see where the price came from. See Pricing Calcs.
Integrations
- A Package selected event. When your customer picks a package, that now fires as a webhook and as an email notification, on the Solar, Battery, Heat Pump and Air Con Quote Tools.
