A refreshed interface, and emails sent from a team member's own address
Most of the product looks different. Text fields, dropdowns, checkboxes, buttons, address lookups and almost every popup have been rebuilt to one consistent design, across the quote tools your customers use, the proposal editor, the Installer Portal, and the forms your customers complete when they accept. Nothing has moved in the sidebar, and quoting, pricing and CRM behaviour are unchanged. Two things do change underneath the new look: your team can send proposal and quote emails from their own address, and OpenSolar imports no longer arrive without roofs.
New
- Send proposal and quote emails from a team member's own address. Turn on Allow team to use their own from address under Customer-Facing Email Settings, on the Email page in Settings. A From box then appears when you compose a proposal or instant quote email, offering your company address or the address on the sender's Team Profiles entry. It is off to start with. Leave it off and every email keeps sending from your company address as it does today.
- Start the compose form on the team member's address. With the above on, Use team members' own email address by default preselects the sender's own address instead of the company one. They can still switch back before sending.
- Only verified sending domains can be used. A team member's address is offered only when its domain is a sending domain verified on your account, so a personal address such as Gmail stays greyed out. So does the option for anyone with no email set on their Team Profiles entry. Either way, the reason is shown under the From box. Automated and scheduled emails to your customers are not affected — those still send from your company address.
Improved
- Popups have one title and one set of buttons. Editing a roof, a room, a proposal block, a product or a setting opens a popup with a single title bar, an X to close, and Cancel and Save in the footer. Popups that used to carry a second heading, or a second row of buttons inside the content, no longer do.
- Confirmations are laid out the same way everywhere. An "are you sure" prompt puts the question in the body under a Confirm action title, with the cancel and confirm buttons in the footer.
- Listing pages share one layout. On Proposals, Instant Quotes, Contacts, Enquiries, the Hardware Catalogue and the other lists, search, filters and sort sit together on one toolbar, create and export sit on the title row, and rows, badges and row actions are tighter so more fits on screen.
- The same fields and buttons throughout. Quote tools, the proposal editor, the Installer Portal and your customers' contact, acceptance and sign-in forms now use one set of controls, so a field behaves the same wherever you meet it.
- Address and person lookups match the fields around them. Searching for a property address on a proposal, or choosing who it is prepared by, looks like every other field now. What they search and what they return is unchanged.
Fixed
- OpenSolar imports keep their roofs. Some designs imported from OpenSolar produced an empty Technical details section, because the design carried no shade data for its panel groups. Those roofs now appear, using an unobstructed sunpath where no shade information came through — so shading on those roofs reads more optimistically than on a design that brings a full shade profile.
