The Commercial Solar Quote Tool, and battery expansion packs

The Commercial Solar Quote Tool is now something you can have added to your account. Alongside it, battery packages built around an all-in-one inverter-battery can grow with expansion packs instead of a second unit, there is more you can say about a package before your customer picks one, and proposals gain an accreditation cards block.

New​

  • The Commercial Solar Quote Tool. A quote tool for commercial roofs, sitting beside your residential tools under Web Apps, with its own Commercial Solar Quotes listing. Your customer pins the property, describes how the building uses electricity, enters their bill and tariff, draws the roof, and works through output, packages, savings, return on investment and Extras before leaving their details. It is not switched on by default and is priced separately from your residential tools, so talk to us to have it added.
  • Battery expansion packs. Add a Battery Expansion Pack product to your Hardware Catalogue, then set Max battery expansion packs per combined inverter-battery on the package. The quote tool adds expansion packs up to that limit to reach the target capacity before it adds another all-in-one unit. This previously worked on solar packages only; it now works on battery packages too. A package containing expansion packs also needs at least one combined inverter-battery product, and the package editor tells you if it does not have one, or if the limit is still zero.
  • Badges on hardware packages. A short label with an optional icon and colour, set on the package and shown on the package card your customer sees.
  • Extra package bullets. An Extra package bullets field on the package adds further bullet points to the package card. These show in the Commercial Solar Quote Tool only for now.
  • Accreditation cards in proposals. A new block in the General group of the block chooser: a row of trust and accreditation cards, each with an optional logo, icon, title and text.
  • Custom blocks in the Commercial Solar Quote Tool. A Custom blocks tab lets you place content blocks on the start page and on each step of the tool.
  • Choose how your customer gets in touch. In Business Details on your account, set which contact routes to offer — phone, live chat, email, an office visit, and an enquiry form — each with its own wording. They appear in the Need Help? panel on the Commercial Solar Quote Tool start page. Live chat can either open a link or fire an event that the live chat widget on your own site can listen for.

Improved​

  • Package highlights show in the expanded package view, above What's included?, so a customer opening a package sees your selling points before the hardware list.
  • What's Not Included on the summary. The exclusions you set under Content now appear on the summary step of the Commercial Solar Quote Tool, behind a show more control so they do not crowd out the price.
