Quote tools on phones and iPads

Running a quote on a phone or tablet now behaves much more like it does on a laptop. The drawing canvases fill the screen and respond to pinch zoom on iPhone and iPad, number fields accept decimals, and headings and spacing scale down so less of the page is wasted.

Improved

  • Fullscreen and pinch zoom on iPhone and iPad in the solar roof editor, the air con layout, and the heat loss floor plan in proposals. iPhone does not support the usual fullscreen control, so these now fall back to filling the screen, and pinching zooms the drawing rather than the page.
  • Headings and spacing scale down below a laptop screen. Display sizes shrink on phones and tablets, body text and captions stay as they are, and sections sit closer together with less padding at the edges.
  • The pin map scrolls into view when a quote starts. On a phone the map used to sit below the fold after your customer chose an address.
  • Property data is gathered in the background. In the Commercial Solar Quote Tool the lookups start when the quote is created, or when the address changes, so your customer can work through Usage profile and Electricity bill while they run.
  • An empty commercial roof design opens in Standard for your customer, and in Advanced on a quote you are running yourself, rather than in Approximated. Approximated is still there to choose.

Fixed

  • Decimals type correctly on iOS in the commercial electricity bill and tariff fields. A trailing decimal point is no longer stripped as you type, and a comma is accepted as a decimal separator.
  • Usage profile cards no longer look selected after a finger has scrolled past them on a touch screen.
  • Your customer is no longer stuck at Electricity bill when the background property lookup fails. Confirming carries on, and the data is fetched at the roof step instead.
  • Contact details on an existing customer are updated when they quote again with a new name or phone number. The old details used to stay on the record that emails and your CRM read from.
  • Markdown fields no longer crash. Undo and the toolbar could throw an error that left a field, such as a product description, unusable until the page was reloaded.
