Stackable battery products

If you sell a battery that builds up in modules, you can now model it the way it is actually assembled. Four product types cover the parts of a stack, the package sets how many modules sit on each master, and the Solar, Commercial Solar and Battery Quote Tools size the stack to the capacity they need — adding a whole extra stack when one is not enough.

New​

  • Four stackable product types in your Hardware Catalogue. Stackable Battery Master, Stackable Battery Master with Storage, Stackable Battery Slave and Stackable Battery Base. A master with storage and a slave take the usual battery fields. A master without storage takes a voltage, and both it and a base take dimensions and weight.
  • Stack rules on a package. Set Min slaves per master and Max slaves per master on a solar or battery package. Choose Identical stacks to keep every stack the same height, or Allow mixed sizes to let stacks differ within that range so an in-between capacity can still be reached. When one stack at the maximum is not enough, the quote tool adds a whole extra stack.
  • A stacked package image. The package image is built by stacking the product images, and a tall stack is scaled down as a whole so it stays inside the frame. Use a front-on primary image for each product, cropped to the unit with no padding, so the modules sit flush.
  • Pricing variables for each stackable type. Counts and total costs for masters, masters with storage, slaves and bases are available in your Pricing Models formulas.

Improved​

  • The package editor checks a stack before you rely on it. It tells you when a package has no master, more than one master, no slave, or more than one base. It also warns when you mix stackable products with standalone batteries, expansion packs or all-in-ones, and when the minimum and maximum slaves are still unset — until they are, the quote tools ignore the stackable products.

Fixed​

  • A battery package with an inverter no longer quotes batteries on their own. If inverter sizing failed — for example because the panel count or panel wattage was missing — the Battery Quote Tool fell back to quoting the storage alone. A package that contains an inverter or an all-in-one is now left out of the quote rather than offered without one.
